Randy Pausch dies at 47

(CNN) — Randy Pausch, the professor whose “last lecture” became a runaway phenomenon on the Internet and was turned into a best-selling book, died Friday of pancreatic cancer, Carnegie Mellon University announced on its Web site.

Pausch, 47, a computer science professor, delivered the lecture, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” at Carnegie Mellon in September 2007, a month after being told he had three to six months to live because his cancer had returned.

iPhone 3G – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly [My Review]

Yesterday was the big launch of the new iPhone 3G and later in the afternoon I had the opportunity to play with one for a few hours and even take some photos to write this small review.

The Good

One of the major hit of this new iPhone it’s, of course, the 3G connectivity, which during my tests works a lot faster that I thought it was going to be.

First of all I start watching some YouTube videos using my buddy’s home wireless network and the load time of the videos were pretty decent. Then I turned off the wireless connectivity to load other videos of similar duration through 3G, and they load faster, which impressed me.

Rogers offers new iPhone 3G plans (6GB – $30 a month)

Rogers is launching a promotional offer along with the iPhone 6GB of data for $30 a month which can be added on top of any regular voice plan.

The promo will be available for iPhone buyers who activate with a three year contract before August 31.

This is a really good offer compared to the $115 voice & data plan for ONLY 2GB.
