Las Friday I took my cousins Sony Alpha DSLR-A200, and after a quick training to take pictures of “fast“ moving objects, I head on to Montreal for Canada’s GP. During my trip I was wondering if the 15 minutes training trying to catch some birds will help me on the track with a 325 Km/h Ferrari.

Saturday morning we all (my in-laws, my wife and I) woke up early, to leave the CRAPPY hotel I rent :s, and head on to Place-des-Arts our nearest subway station for the practice and pole position.

Once in the track I start testing the shutter speed of the A200 against the REALLY fast F1 cars to see if I catch a few of them freeze, so since it was a sunny day I start a 1/1000, but the details in the cars looks blurry, so I head on to the max 1/4000 and try to catch a car, but became extremely difficult because I want to take a close up to the car.

After about 45 pics with only an empty race track or a tiny part of the car I change the setting to continuous shooting and just wait for my lucky shoot and after a few laps with 130 of pics taken, I finally catch completely this gorgeous Ferrari at 1/400shutter speed.

On race day, I focus more on the race and less in the pics and stop worrying about the blur on the small details and took the pics at 1/1000

Here is a pic of Robert Kubica during his celebration lap.

The event took place at the Direct Energy Centre with an approximated assistance of 4,000 peoples (this is for sure the biggest Microsoft launch I’ve been).

For the keynote we have a small introduction from Phil Sorgen (president of Microsoft Canada) and then Kevin Turner (COO of Microsoft) who gives really good keynote, because it was a mix between the speech and a demo.

The best new thing in this new version of Visual Studio is the ability to debug JavaScript, with the breakpoints, the watch and all you need. I think this is amazing. Windows Server 2008 it’s all about virtualized environments.

Last Monday (family day here in Ontario) Laura and I went to Toronto Autoshow 2008 and because Laura is now working for KIA we both got free tickets for the show . During our 4 hours walk we saw different cars from Bentley, Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche, Maserati, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai , Ford, GM, Mazda, KIA and a few others.

————————————————————

Here are some of the most amazing cars we saw on the show:

We also saw some concept cars, like this new Prius , the hybrid option from Toyota.
